Jim Broadbent
Jim Broadbent, un actor británico muy querido, ganador de un Oscar y un Golden Globe por su labor en la película de 2001 de Richard Eyre “Iris,” junto a Judi Dench. La actuación de Broadbent como el devoto marido de Iris Murdoch, John Bayley, también le hizo recibir nominaciones para los premios National Board of Review, Screen Actors Guild y BAFTA por Mejor Actor de Reparto. Además, ganó un premio Los Angeles Film Critics por su labor en “Iris” y en el musical de Baz Luhrman “Moulin Rouge!,” por el cual Broadbent también ganó un BAFTA como Mejor Actor de Reparto. También en 2001, ptotagonizó la exitosa comedia “Bridget Jones’s Diary,” donde interpreta al padre de Bridget.
Broadbent actuó recientemente en el film de Steven Spielberg “Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.” Próximamente protagonizará “The Young Victoria,” que muestra a la Reina Victoria en sus años de juventud y este verano será el profesor de Hogwarts Horace Slughorn en la sexta parte de Harry Potter, “Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince.”
Broadbent ganó un premio London Film Critics Circle y un premio como Mejor Actor en el Festival de Cine de Venecia de 1999 por su interpretación de W.S.
