Fue educado en Hollywood.

Estudió en la Universidad de San Francisco y comenzó a trabajar como
cantante.

1965 Obtuvo un papel en The Royal Hunt of the Sun, en Broadway.

1972 Actuó con Barbara Hershey en la cinta Boxcar Bertha de Martin Scorses, ese mismo año fue electo para protagonizar la serie de television "Kung Fu"de Alex Beaton y Robert Butler en la que David interpreta a Kwai Chang Caine durante tres años.

1975 Se asoció con el productor Roger Corman

1977 Actuó en la película The Serpent's Egg, de Ingmar Bergman

1990 Reapareció en su papel de Kway Chang Caine en algunos programas de Kung Fu en television Ha escrito dos libros: The philosophical Spirit of Shaolin y una autobiografía: Endless Highway. También ha realizado videos de Tai Chi y Kung Fu.

2003 David Carradine interpreta a Bill en la Kill Bill de Quentin Tarantino

2009 Un vocero de la embajada de USA en Tailandia Turner, confirmó el deceso del actor de 72 años. Dijo que las autoridades tailandesas le informaron a la embajada que Carradine murió el miércoles por la noche o el jueves por la madrugada, pero se excusó de dar más detalles por consideración con la familia.
